Akro Agate Lighters
Akro Agate lighters are vintage collectibles from the 1920s and 1930s, primarily made by the Akro Agate Company in Akron, Ohio. Known for their Art Deco designs, these lighters are crafted from slag glass, often containing uranium, which gives them a distinctive glow under UV light. They come in various shapes, such as round, triangular, or square, and feature vibrant, marbled colors like green, oxblood, lemonade, and jadeite. These electric table lighters were designed for cigars or cigarettes, often with a heating coil activated by a weight mechanism. Some were produced by Houze Glass, a related manufacturer.
