IMCO Lighters

IMCO’s most iconic models include the Triplex Super 6700 and Streamline 6800, introduced in the early 20th century. The Triplex, launched around 1922, became one of the world’s most popular lighters, with over 500 million units produced. Known for their lightweight, durable stainless steel construction, IMCO lighters were designed for practicality, often used by soldiers during WWII due to their windproof design and ease of use.

IMCO lighters feature a minimalist, functional design with a detachable fuel tank and a windscreen chimney, making them easy to refill and maintain. The Triplex Super has a distinctive U-shaped flame guard, while the Streamline offers a sleeker, more modern look. They use a flint and wick system, with a simple spark wheel for ignition, embodying a utilitarian aesthetic.

Vintage IMCO lighters are prized for their durability and nostalgic charm, often found in good condition due to their robust construction. Collectors value models with original packaging, rare engravings, or advertising logos from the mid-20th century. Prices typically range from $10–$50 for common models, with rare variants fetching higher prices. Their affordability compared to luxury brands like Zippo or Dunhill adds to their appeal for both novice and seasoned collectors.

IMCO ceased production in 2012.
